The letter of Paul to the church in Rome; A Warning

“I urge you, brothers and sisters, be on your guard against the people who stir up disagreements and obstacles contrary to the teaching which you learnt. Avoid them, for such people serve not our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and with compliments and flattery deceive the hearts of simple people. Your obedience has become known to everyone, and I am quite delighted with you for it; I want you to be learned only in what is good, and straightforward about what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.”

-Romans 16:17-20, (RNJB)

Obedience to our heavenly Father’s guidance is in our own interests as scripture promotes health and sustainable communities. Exploring the patterns of nature leads to better understanding of the God of peace. Toil in the fields to create linen, or to make felt, rifles, or books, is following his path of daily labor.

Making a energy storing lap blanket is a project included at the end of this page. Dielectric blankets alternate layers of fluffy organic material (cotton quilt batting or an old wool blanket) with stretched out steel wool (iron, magnetic attracting metal). Slightly larger squares of a strong muslin or flannel cotton sheet are sewn around and then some quilting stitches hold all the layers together. Use a pillow case over it to protect from spills and refresh it occasionally by hanging outdoors in the sunshine. Avoid storing it near EMF devices. It will store the negative energy of EMF instead of healthy hydrogen energy or body warmth.

…Are all types of energy the same for health? Government and industry standards tend to protect industry more than individual risk. EMF is like an excess of energy for the body, in a large way, a large ratio compared to the health energy of nature and sitting by a tree or riverside.

Living in excess or in filth is not Godly, by Scripture’s guidance, and may reflect chemistry. If quantum flow of hydrogen is the Oneness, then living out of balance or with an overload of toxins or allergens will physically disrupt the quantum structure of our body fluid. Obedience to our Holy Father’s rules which suggest life is through one doorway, His, and death the other, may have physical basis in a quantum phase of hydrogen. Life is too expensive to function well without the speed of quantum flow.

Essential Oil Cautions: Anointing with essential oils is a Biblical practice scientifically shown to have significant antimicrobial and health benefits. Safe use and caution for personal sensitivity is critical as essential oils are quite potent and tiny amounts can cause negative effects when sensitive. Allergies may be present or difficulty breaking down the plant chemicals may lead to over accumulation of potent chemicals within the body.

Scroll to the end for recipes for vinegar or castile oil-based soap cleansers for household use, scented with essential oils that also have cleaning and sanitizing potency.

Phenol content of essential oils is also located later and lists of essential oils which may be better tolerated and basic usage directions.

Balance: Dose does make the medicine or the poison. Balance is the most basic rule of nature and God’s guidance for us. Live in balance within ourselves – physical, mental and spiritual, and live in balance with each other, creating work to exchange and share with each other.

Some indigenous groups revered otters as minor deities of a sort, playful spirits that might lead you astray or lead you to safety in stormy weather. ….we don’t hunt water-deities; we revere them as a critical part of our community.

Infographic comparing sea otters and sea urchins, explaining their ecological relationship and balance. Steps describing how otters eat urchins and facts about both species are included.

Hunting and foraging rules suggest that we protect a species and ecosystem by not taking all of a species, or harvesting during growing season. Living in balance within a sustainable ecosystem is about giving and taking in even exchange rather than being about tax and carbon credit systems. When we live out of balance, the structure can collapse and then physical survival may not be possible. Obedience to God’s law of balance promotes structure over time.

Watching nature can help us learn the rules of life. Plant seeds now in order to have a better harvest later. Clean in order to reduce living in an unclean environment. We are what we breathe in and what we eat and drink, or read and watch. God’s rules: Avoid toxins that depress or pollute the mind, body, or spirit.

Eco-Friendly Cleaning Solutions Guide

Vinegar-Based Glass & Stainless Steel Cleaner

Why vinegar?

  • Leaves no streaks (unlike soap)
  • Effective against mold
  • Avoids ammonia-based products like Windex

Recipe:

  • 16 oz bottle: ¼ cup white vinegar + 30 drops essential oils
  • 32 oz bottle: ½ cup white vinegar + 60 drops essential oils
Note: Vinegar scent dissipates quickly. Adjust ratios for tougher jobs (e.g., 50/50 vinegar/water for heavy buildup).

Soap-Based Surface Cleaner

Why Castile soap?

  • Biodegradable and concentrated
  • Versatile for sanitizing (when paired with essential oils)

Recipes:

  1. Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Castile Soap:
    • 2 tbsp for 16 oz water | ¼ cup for 32 oz water
  2. Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds (more concentrated):
    • 1 tbsp for 32 oz water
Tip: Add 60 drops Protective Blend essential oils (e.g., tea tree, lavender) for disinfecting properties.

Usage Notes:

  • Fill bottle with water first, then add soap to prevent foaming.
  • For commercial dish soap, adjust quantity (may require more than Castile soap).

Safety & Efficiency Tips

  • Bleach Alert: The “clean” smell we have learned to associate with the odor of bleach is an indicator of damaging chemicals within the delicate nasal tissue. Vinegar and soap based cleansers are safer for humans and the environment.
  • Essential Oils: Optional or many provide similar antimicrobial properties so personal preference or sensitivities can be used regarding blends versus single oils. Citrus oils or pine add degreasing power and are in many commercially purchased cleansers for aroma and cleaning purposes. Lavendar is a favorite for fragrance and adds antimicrobial benefits.
  • Containers: Use glass or chemical-resistant plastic spray bottles.

Histamine Sensitivity & Essential Oils Guide

Citrus Oils Caution

Potential Issues:

  • Citrus peel oils (lemon, orange, bergamot, etc.) may worsen histamine/MCAS symptoms:
    • Allergy-like reactions (hives, flushing)
    • Neurological effects (overstimulation, migraines)
    • Increased oxidative stress

Who Should Avoid:

  • Highly sensitive individuals: Skip citrus in all products (even diffusers)
  • Moderately sensitive: May tolerate topical/cleaning use but avoid internal use

Alternatives to Citrus Oils:

  • Immune blends: Clove, rosemary, eucalyptus, tea tree
  • Fresh options: Lemongrass, holy basil (tulsi), thyme

Recognizing Histamine Sensitivity

Common Signs:

  • Skin: Redness, hives, dermatographia (skin writing)
  • Allergy-like: Nasal congestion, itching
  • Neurological: Hyperactivity, insomnia, or paradoxical drowsiness
  • Histamine Hyperexcitability: Severe paranoia or run-away behavior, self injury, or grandiose mania; escalation of good or bad feelings. Histamine is a modulator within the brain in normal amounts, a brake pedal within our brain or the transmission. Excess leads to excessive brain activity followed by a crash or flu-like illness in the following days. Polyphenols or an apple or pear with the peel may help reduce immediate symptoms (or luteolin and quercetin) and Ylang ylang essential oil can be calming.
  • Pomegranate polyphenols inhibit mast cell degranulation. Green or black tea, goji (wolf) berries, persimmon, quince, edible sumac, and red raspberries are also sources of ellagitannins, 600 mg/day might be advisable for adults.
  • Flavanols: Catechin, Epicatechin, Gallocathechin, EGCG, Proanthocyanidins; 400/600 mg per day intake is recommended by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Crowe-White, et al, 2022).
  • Post-COVID note: MCAS is a frequent complication

Management Tips:

  • DAO enzyme supplements before meals may help, avoiding problem foods may help more though.
  • Reduced histamine diet – avoid fermented foods or beverages and seasonings, any aged foods whether gourmet cheese or leftovers, histamine increases as the microbes metabolize the food or aging of protein leads to more free amino acids. Tomatoes and citrus, walnuts, cranberries, chocolate, and many common foods may be causing daily negative symptoms. Learn more about Mast Cells and histamine, if histamine symptoms sound familiar.
  • Probiotic support (strains like Bacillus subtilis, B. infantis) and resistant starches, zinc and magnesium adequacy in the diet.

Key Reminder:
Reactions vary by individual and current stress levels- intolerance symptoms can vary or worsen when other stressors worsen or strenuous exercise increases. Patch-test new oils and prioritize symptom tracking when trying new things. Keeping a symptom log is helpful.

Balance – Phenols in excess can cause symptoms in anyone, Sensitive people may react to less.

An informational graphic about the use of essential oils for cleansing, featuring illustrations of hyssop, rosemary, and clove buds, along with text on their properties and cautions.

Cypress and Hyssop or Lavender would combine three types of aromatic phytochemicals that have additive healing properties – the phenols, monoterpenes, and sesquiterpenoids. Two drops of each in a spoon of carrier oil massaged topically might have soothing benefits for muscle cramps or headache.

Hyssop has a little ~ 3% phenylpropanoids and might be tolerated by a phenol sensitive person compared to Clove, Thyme or Peppermint oils.

Hyssop is rich in monoterpenes and Cypress is rich in sesquiterpenoids.

Those who love goodness are anointed with the oil of joy: “robes… fragrant with Myrrh and aloes [Sandalwood] and Cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad.”

– Psalm 45:7-8

Biblical Essential Oil blend:

  • Oil of Joy: mix 1-2 drops Myrrh, Cinnamon and Sandalwood essential oils in a spoon of oil → massage. Cardamom could be a substitute for Cinnamon
  • Cassia and Cinnamon are similar in aroma.

Craft Project – Stay Warm with Less EMF

Electric blankets are also EMF generating devices. The dielectric lap blankets are made with layers of fluffy cotton or wool batting and steel wool gently stretched out into a wider mesh. The lap blanket has to be kept dry, not washed, as the steel wool will rust. Use for warmth or for an achy body part as the blankets become warm and increase circulation. Thirty minutes or an hour rather than all night is the typical use as too much circulation is too much, out of balance toward over-heated and that is inflammatory too.

Life is about finding a mellow middle.
